frequently asked questions

We have anticipated the following questions you might have as you make the decision to visit the Spa.

How early should I arrive for my spa treatment?

Arrive a minimum of 15 minutes prior to your first appointment to allow yourself ample time to check in at the Athletic Services Desk and to change. We recommend that you shower and begin to relax by using the whirlpool, steam room or sauna before your appointment.

Do I have to disrobe entirely for my spa treatment?

A robe is provided for your privacy and out of consideration for our guests and the therapist. When you enter the treatment room, your therapist will leave the room briefly to give you the chance to disrobe. Our therapists are trained to drape towels or sheets discreetly over any areas of your body not involved in the treatment and to protect your privacy at all times. For your comfort we supply disposable undergarments; however, if you prefer, a bathing suit may be worn.

Is there anything I should avoid doing prior to a spa treatment?

We recommend that you do not eat one hour prior to receiving a massage or body treatment. Alcoholic beverages should not be consumed before any spa treatment. We ask that you do not shave your legs or underarms at least 24 hours prior to receiving a body treatment.

Should I take my jewelry off?

Please do not bring valuables to the Spa.

Should I avoid visiting the Spa if I am pregnant?

Not at all, though you will want to avoid treatments using deep pressure and treatments involving heat. If you have any concerns, please check with the Spa prior to booking your appointment.

Should I alert someone if I have any physical ailments, disabilities or allergies?

Absolutely! In particular, if you have high blood pressure, suffer from allergies or are pregnant, notify our staff when booking your appointment. We'll cover these and any other conditions on the medical intake form that you are required to complete prior to your first appointment.

What is the age requirement?

Massage and body treatments are designed for members and guests 18 years of age and older. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive a facial and/or nail treatment.

May my children join me?

This is your day to relax and enjoy the experience. We kindly request that children not accompany you to your Spa visit.

Should I avoid visiting the Spa if I have a fever or a cold?

Please notify your therapist or aesthetician if you are suffering from cold symptoms, under a doctor's care or on any medication.

Is there anything else I need to know?

Please turn off cellular phones and pagers prior to your treatment in consideration of others and so you may enjoy some uninterrupted time for yourself.
